the lectures and discussions. The Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences, and Technology (SAASST) hosted the 3rd Winter School under the theme “Scientific Tradition in Islamic Civilization” during the period 9-15 January 2022. Several local and international experts participated in this school with different lectures on interesting topics. The students were able to attend onsite and also online. Prof. Mesut confirmed to us that there were more 70 participants in the online sessions that were also translated to English. Prof. Ilias Fernini, the SAASST Deputy General Director for Research was invited to give some words during the closing ceremony. He emphasized on the role of the ancient Muslim scientists to the rise of the Western civilization. The contribution of scholars like al-Khwarizmi, Al-Battani, or Al-Biruni cannot be underestimated as it is in the present days. The closing ceremony was ended with a tour of a special exhibition at the House of Wisdom “Chapters of Islamic Art”, the ETTINGHAUSEN’S Private Collection of Rare Books.
