The workshop aimed to deliver to participants the required knowledge of ITU’s procedures and regulations related to satellite networks and hands-on training regarding ITU’s software for generating filings. In addition, it gave some general insight into the ITU-R sector, the advantages of joining the Academia Sector in the ITU, and detailed information about different satellite services and types of filings. The workshop was a great opportunity for all participants from the UAE’s Academia sector to meet experts from ITU to gain enough knowledge in this field, especially for anyone involved in space projects.
The Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences, and Technology’s CubeSat engineers attended the three-day to gain more insight into the TDRA regulations in light of its future CubeSat missions in the near future. Engs. Tarifa Al-Kaabi, Ibrahim al-Sabt, Yousuf Faroukh, Maryam Al-Ansari, Maryam Essa Sharif, and Fatima Al-Ketbi, all actively participated in this workshop.
