SAASST Participation at the ICECTA 2022 conference

In the International Conference on Electrical and Computing Technologies and Applications (ICECTA 2022) held by the American University of Ras Al Khaimah, the Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences, and technology (SAASST) presented two papers as part of its participation.

This conference focused on the latest theoretical and practical developments in the fields of Electrical Engineering, Computing Technologies, their Applications, and related fields.  It was organized by the American University of Ras Al Khaimah (AURAK), UAE. It aimed to provide engineers, professionals, academics, and researchers with a platform to share their research findings and explore recent developments, practices, and future research directions.

Mr. Abdollah Masoud, a lab engineer at the Space Weather and Ionosphere laboratory, presented the two papers. He is also the lead author of both papers. One of the papers, entitled: "Abnormal Phase Scintillation Observed from GLONASS Signals," discusses the abnormal observations of phase scintillations that have been observed from the GLONASS global navigation satellite constellation by the SAASST GNSS receiver. The second paper, "Martian Ionosphere Electron Density Prediction Using Bagged Trees, " describes a novel model developed using machine learning to predict the Martian ionosphere's electron density.
