UoS and SAASST Participate in the Virtual Arab Science Week

Under the directives of HE Prof. Hamid Al-Naimiy, the Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, and Director General of the Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences, and Technology, the University of Sharjah and SAASST are participating in the “Virtual Arab Science Week” in between Aug. 15-23, 2020.

 

The main objectives of the ASW 2020 are to:

  1. Increase public awareness and interest in science and technology
  2. Simplify science concepts and disseminate scientific culture in all circles of society
  3. Establish the concepts of scientific thinking among the general public
  4. Connect the community with experts and specialists to discuss modern scientific ideas
  5. Establish partnerships and encourage cooperation between institutions in the fields of science and technology
  6. Empower the general public with knowledge, and attracting them to the sciences
  7. Create new communication methods that combine science and entertainment

 

These objectives of the science week seek to set the stage for the future vision of science in the Arab world under the five following tracks:

 

  1. Technological Aspirations
  2. Sustainable Earth
  3. Science Fundamentals
  4. Disaster Prevention and Preparation
  5. Science in our Daily Lives
