SAASST Planetarium Interns Graduation

On July 19, 2023, the SAASST Planetarium unit delighted audiences with a remarkable and immersive planetarium show, uniquely crafted and presented by their dedicated summer interns.

Ms. Manar Abusirdaneh, a research assistant at the Space Weather and Ionospheric Laboratory at the Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences, and Technology, conducted a lecture under the title "Exploring Astronomical Wonders Using Mathematical Modeling" on Jul. 19, 2023.

SAASST on Amassi TV

The Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences, and Technology was showcased on Amassi TV show on Jul. 19, 2023. Prof. Ilias Fernini, the Director of the Space Sciences Department, and Ms. Noora Al-Ameri, a research assistant at the High Energy Astrophysics Laboratory, were the guests of the TV show for one hour.

On July 15, 2023, the Low-Frequency Radio Telescope at SAASST detected a type III solar radio burst in the metric radio band at 10:09 UT.

The graduation ceremony of the Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences, and Technology (SAASST) summer interns was an awe-inspiring celebration of their accomplishments in various space sciences research laboratories, the planetarium, and the Sharjah Optical Observatory.

The Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences, and Technology (SAASST) participated at the prestigious European Astronomical Society (EAS) Annual Meeting 2023 conference in Krakow, Poland.

In collaboration with the Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences, and Technology, the Sharjah Book Authority organized an engaging workshop entitled "Be an Astronaut" On Jul. 12, 2023.

On July 9, 2023, the Low-Frequency Radio Telescope at SAASST detected multiple radio bursts in the decametric and metric radio bands.

The Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences, and Technology (SAASST) has made history again by hosting the highly anticipated event, "A Call from Space," on Jul. 06, 2023, featuring the esteemed UAE astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi.

Can You See Me? Mrs. Salma Subhi

The Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences, and Technology organized a lecture titled "Can You See Me?" by Mrs Salma Subhi from the Meteorite Center. The very entertaining talk was about how we see things depending on our perceptions and background.

The Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences, and Technology (SAASST) received a delegation from Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU) on Jul. 04, 2023.

In celebration of "Asteroid Day June 30", the Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences, and Technology (SAASST) presented an online lecture under the title "Safeguarding Humanity - Asteroid Mitigation and Planetary Defense" on June 30, 2023.

The Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences, and Technology organized a lecture titled "The Beauty of Astronomy in the Arabic Language" on Jun. 21, 2023. The presentation was given by Eng. Amel Al-Hammadi from the CubeSat laboratory. Eng. Amel delved into some verses of the Holy Qur'an related to astronomy and their possible scientific interpretations.

The Space Weather and Ionospheric Laboratory at the Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences, and Technology organized a workshop on Jun. 30, 2023, titled “Understanding the Solar Terrestrial Interaction.” A large number of researchers and students attended the workshop.

Malaysian Delegation Visit to SAASST

The Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences, and Technology (SAASST) received a delegation from the Sarawak, Malaysian Government authorities, headed by Haji Mual Bin Haji, Director of the Mufti Department.

The Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences & Technology attended and participated in The “Homegrown Aerospace Symposium” on Jun. 12, 2023, at New York University in Abu Dhabi.

SAASST Visit to NSSTC

Prof. Ilias Fernini, the Director of the Space Sciences Department at the Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences & Technology (SAASST),  visited the National Space Science and Technology Center (NSSTC) on June 14, 2023, with several researchers from SAASST.

Eng. Abdollah Masoud from the "Space Weather and Ionospheric Lab" and the "Radio Astronomy Lab" at the Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences, and Technology gave a lecture on Jun. 14, 2023, under the title "Introduction to Machine Learning Using MatLab."
